Large amounts of coatings can cause both precision problems and high pressures. Pure copper bullets coat significantly more and generally make higher demands on gun care. Step two of Hoppe's cleaning system.
Hoppe's Black is an effective three-step cleaning system. The products are developed for "high-round count firearms" but are suitable for all types of weapons. Designed for use in temperatures between -53°C and 282°C, they prepare your weapon for any situation. The series includes a Gun Cleaner (powder remover), a Copper Cleaner (coupler remover), Grease (gun grease) and Lubrication Cloth (oil wipes).

Hoppes Gun Cleaner Step 1.
Start by applying Hoppe's Black Gun Cleaner to soiled surfaces. Alternate pull tabs with bronze brush to remove stuck gunpowder. The solvent preserves the precision of the barrel and extends its life.

Hoppe's Black Copper Cleaner Step 2.
Continue with Hoppe's Black Copper Cleaner which removes copper and tombac that has coated the barrel. For best effect, let solvents work for a few minutes before applying with brush and traction pads.

Hoppe's Black Oil Step 3
For best function and protection, follow up with a thin layer of Hoppe's Black Oil in barrel and on sliding surfaces. The oil lubricates and protects even under extreme temperatures (-53 °C and 282 °C)
