How to choose the right airsoft BB

Choosing the right BB has a big impact on accuracy and range. The gun’s muzzle velocity, inner barrel, hop-up, and BB weight work together – heavier BBs travel slower but straighter, while lighter ones are more affected by wind.
Weight guidelines:
  • 0.12 g: Below 80 m/s. Suitable for grenades, springers, shotguns, and less precision-focused guns.
  • 0.20 g: 80–105 m/s. Common base weight for standard AEGs.
  • 0.25 g: 105–120 m/s. Great balance between range and accuracy.
  • 0.28 g: 120–130 m/s. For more powerful AEGs and DMRs.
  • 0.30–0.39 g: and 0.40 g and above: Ideal for sniper rifles over 130 m/s. Requires fine-tuning and testing.
You can often go up one weight class for a more stable flight path – for example, 0.28 g BBs work well even in guns with 110 m/s. Heavier BBs cost more per shot but offer better control.

Biodegradable airsoft BBs

Bio BBs decompose within months in nature and are often mandatory on outdoor fields. Many of our premium BBs are biodegradable. Some turn to fine powder; others vanish completely.

Tracer BBs for airsoft

Tracer BBs glow in flight, making it easier to track your shots in the dark. They must be charged with light using a tracer unit – either a tracer suppressor or a magazine with built-in flash. Typically, you load every third to fifth BB with tracer rounds for best results.
