Hatsan Vortex type 7 is a full-power gas spring (Max Velocity) for the Hatsan Proxima air rifle. This is the more powerful version of Hatsan's Vortex system, intended for full-power air rifles and not to be confused with the power-limited 10 J version.
The gas spring uses compressed air instead of a traditional coil spring and provides smoother power delivery with less vibration when fired.

Advantages of the Hatsan Vortex gas spring

The Vortex system is developed and manufactured by Hatsan for its own air rifles. Compared to a traditional coil spring, the gas spring offers several advantages:

• Less vibration: No coil spring that vibrates and twists when fired, providing a calmer shooting experience and potentially contributing to better accuracy.
• More consistent performance: More consistent power delivery between shots and less risk of muzzle velocity gradually deteriorating due to spring fatigue.
• Quieter mechanism: Reduced mechanical noise from the spring during cocking and firing.
• Shorter firing cycle: The movement of the gas spring ends more quickly than that of a traditional coil spring, providing a more distinct firing action.
• Longer service life: No coil spring that can weaken or break. The gas spring can also be kept cocked for longer without the same risk of spring fatigue.

The gas piston is supplied pre-filled with compressed air. The Vortex system uses standard compressed air and allows gas pressure adjustment during servicing.

Fits Hatsan Proxima

Vortex type 7 is specifically intended for the Hatsan Proxima, an underlever air rifle with the Vortex system. Check that the gas spring type and configuration are correct for your air rifle before ordering.
In its full-power configuration, the Hatsan Proxima has the following maximum muzzle velocities:

• Calibre 4.5 mm: Up to 250 m/s
• Calibre 5.5 mm: Up to 220 m/s

The values apply to the air rifle in its full-power configuration and may vary depending on factors such as ammunition weight and design. They are not guaranteed performance values for the gas spring separately.

Important information regarding licensing requirements

This product is a separate spare part for the specified air weapon models. If a modification means that the air weapon is no longer power-limited, a valid firearms licence for the modified weapon is required before the modification is carried out. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the necessary permits are in place and that applicable legislation is followed.
Applications for firearms licences are submitted to the Swedish Police Authority. Röda Stjärnan does not handle licence applications and does not offer assistance with them. Nor do we provide instructions for power-increasing modifications to air weapons. For questions regarding permits and the application process, please contact the Swedish Police Authority.
We recommend that replacement of the gas spring and other internal work be carried out by a qualified gunsmith.
