ASG Steyr AUG A3 is an officially licensed airsoft rifle from Steyr Arms, building on the AUG platform’s compact bullpup design with modernized handguard, rails, and electronics. The gearbox and magazine are located behind the trigger, making it possible to combine a 510 mm long inner barrel with a total length of only 860 mm. The A3 version features an M-LOK compatible handguard, full-length Picatinny rail for optics, programmable ETU, MOSFET, quick change spring, and adjustable rotary hop-up. The body is primarily made from reinforced polymer with metal parts where needed.

M-LOK and Full-Length Picatinny Rail

Unlike the AUG A1 with integrated optics, the A3 has a long Picatinny rail on top of the rifle, making it easy to choose your own red-dot or telescopic sight. The modernized handguard is compatible with M-LOK accessories and is complemented by Picatinny rails at about the 2 o’clock position and on the underside. This provides significantly greater freedom to equip the rifle with, for example, an optic, flashlight, and grip according to your needs.

Programmable ETU and Two-Stage Trigger

The AUG system’s characteristic two-stage trigger is used to switch between semi and full-auto without a traditional fire selector. A lighter pull fires a single shot, while a full pull provides automatic fire. The electronic control features a programmable ETU, ECU, and MOSFET. The gearbox is a Version 3 with 16:1 High Speed gears, high-torque motor, and piston with metal rack. The battery connects via T-connector (DEAN).

Rotary Hop-Up and Quick Change Spring

The adjustable rotary hop-up unit makes it possible to fine-tune the trajectory according to your chosen BB weight. The quick change spring makes it easier to swap springs if the output power needs to be adjusted. The rifle comes with an M95 spring and delivers about 0.9 joules and 95 m/s. A more powerful M120 spring is also included. The magazine is a mid-cap with a capacity for 120 6 mm airsoft BBs.
