G&G SGR556 is an electric airsoft rifle for those who want control over trigger response and firing modes, along with a design that simplifies maintenance. The split G3 gearbox gives easier access to the internals, while the electronics offer pre-cocking, selectable trigger activation point, and programmable burst modes. A sensor also detects when the BBs run out and stops shooting – switch magazine, press the bolt catch and keep playing.

Split G3 Gearbox for Easier Maintenance

SGR556 features a split gearbox, where the cylinder and piston unit can be separated from the lower section with the gears. This makes the mechanics more accessible for inspection and maintenance. The design also includes quick change spring for easier spring changes and a modular MOSFET that can be replaced separately. For those who service their own airsoft rifle, this means less extensive disassembly when you need to access different components.

Customize the Trigger to Your Play Style

The electronic trigger, ETU, has three selectable activation points. You can choose how far the trigger needs to be pulled back before the shot fires. With pre-cocking, the mechanism is prepared for the next shot, reducing the delay between pulling the trigger and firing. This is especially useful in semi-auto mode, where a fast response makes it easier to fire single shots at the right moment. The trigger's three activation points cannot be selected when pre-cocking is enabled.

Programmable Firing Modes with Included Remote Control

In addition to semi- and full-automatic fire, the SGR556 can be set for three- or five-round bursts. Using the included remote control, you can change the electronics settings without opening the rifle. There is also a two-stage mode, called AUG mode, where a short trigger pull fires a single shot and a longer pull fires the selected burst or full-auto.

Stops Shooting When Out of BBs

A sensor detects when there are no BBs in the feed and cuts off firing. You won’t have to keep dry-firing when the magazine is empty. After changing magazines, you press the bolt catch to resume shooting, adding an extra step to the reload. This feature can also be turned off via the remote control. The rifle uses M4/M16 AEG-type magazines and comes with a 120-BB mid-cap magazine.

Externally Adjustable Hop-Up

Hop-up is adjusted with a screw at the front of the handguard, above the barrel. This gives access to the adjustment without having to keep the ejection port open. You can tune the trajectory to suit the BB weight you use, and the inner barrel is 330 mm long.

Metal Body, M-LOK, and Ambidextrous Controls

The metal body is combined with an M-LOK handguard where you can attach foregrips and other compatible accessories. The top Picatinny rail provides space for a red dot sight or scope. Folding sights are included and can be removed if you want to free up space for optics. Both the fire selector and magazine release can be used from both the right and left side. The stock is adjustable in six positions, so you can tailor the length to your shooting stance and equipment. The battery is housed in the stock.
