Historical Role Model – SVT-40

The SVT-40 (Samozaryadny Karabin Tokareva, model 1940) was designed by Fyodor Tokarev and used by the Red Army during World War II, including in sniper configurations. The weapon was an early attempt to introduce semi-automatic rifles on a large scale and is today a clear example of Soviet weapon technology from the period.

Internal Construction and Function

The airsoft version is equipped with a reinforced gearbox and rotary hop-up, located under the bolt when retracted. The hop-up is easy to adjust and works well with heavier airsoft BBs. The model also features an ETU with gear position control via magnetic sensor, providing smoother operation and better control of the spring cycle. An integrated deep discharge protection automatically cuts power if the battery voltage drops below 6.0 V.
