BDU stands for Battle Dress Uniform and was the standard uniform of the US military from 1980 until about 2005, when it was replaced by the ACU. The BDU was originally supplied in Woodland, but as the uniform became more common it came in many different colors and patterns, both official and unofficial. The BDU uniform and especially the trousers quickly became very popular for use in civilian and various field applications. Today, the BDU design is iconic and often offers a very affordable pant for a variety of situations.
These are quite big in the sizes, most people choose a size smaller than what they usually wear.
