German paratrooper helmet in newly manufactured reproduction from Mil-Tec, based on the original Fallschirmjägerhelm M38 used by the Luftwaffe's paratrooper forces (Fallschirmjäger) during World War II. The helmet features the typical compact shell without brim and neck extension – designed to minimize injury risk during parachute jumps. Made of 100% steel with correct form, and equipped with an inner helmet and four-point chin strap in genuine cowhide. This model recreates both appearance and function of the original and is a popular choice among reenactors, collectors, and film producers.

Historical Background

The Fallschirmjägerhelm M38 was adopted by the Luftwaffe around 1938 and was the last development in the series of paratrooper helmets. Unlike regular steel helmets, the M38 had a more streamlined shape without protruding brim or neck protection, which reduced the risk of neck injuries upon landing. It replaced earlier helmet variants like the M36 and M37 and had improved interior, shock absorption, and a stable four-point chin strap system. The helmet was worn by the Luftwaffe's elite units during battles in Norway, Holland, Crete, Italy, and on the Eastern Front.
