Based on the sleeping bag principle, this innovative solution offers a way to counteract that the insulation of the sleeping bag and clothing is compressed under the pressure of the hammock and thus does not provide sufficient insulation when you are lying in the hammock. This insulating layer envelops the entire surface of the hammock (much like a large banana peel) and traps warm air both inside the surface of the hammock and in its generous layer of insulation. The full length zipper provides easy access in and out of your hammock.
Due to the versatility of the hammock insulation system and the many ways to set up a hammock, it is difficult to determine an exact comfort temperature for these products. As a general reference, this product uses Travelsoft insulation with a similar fill weight to Snugpak's two-season sleeping bags. Snugpak recommends that you experiment with your set up and gradually adapt to more extreme temperatures until you feel confident in the overall thermal performance of the product, you may need to supplement with an extra sleeping bag or similar in really cold temperatures.

Notes when fitting :

It is important that, BEFORE you use the hammock's insulation system, you check the tension by gently pressing down on the hammock so that even under load the hammock takes the weight. HAMMOCK COCOON WGTE IS NOT DESIGNED TO BEAR WEIGHT. YOUR HAMMOCK SHOULD TAKE YOUR WEIGHT, NOT THE COCOON.
