When the unexpected rain hits, the Enhanced Patrol Poncho WGTE sits comfortably over your head and provides 100% waterproof protection for you and your backpack. Weighing less than 450g, it is an indispensable piece of equipment for every adventurer. Thanks to its generous smock design, it can even be used as an emergency bivouac if you need to spend an unexpected night under the stars!

Poncho care

The waterproofing of the poncho is a PU- coating and does not require special attention to maintain its waterproofness, but the outer fabric is treated with DWR (durable water repellent) which causes the water to bead up and run off.

Once the DWR coating has been deactivated, the fabric can begin to absorb itself water and look like it's failing, but this is only cosmetic. DWR can be reapplied, and we recommend products such as Nikwax or Granger's. These products come with full instructions and are usually applied by washing or spraying onto the garment.

There are no hard and fast rules as to how often you need to do this, but when you notice the water stops beading on the garment.
