This sleeping bag cover, also known as a bivy bag, is inspired by American and German military design. The upper part is made of breathable membrane fabric (3-layer laminate) that allows moisture to escape while protecting against rain and dew. The underside consists of waterproof and durable polyester fabric with taped seams for adequate protection against ground moisture. The membrane has a water column of 5,000 mm and breathability of 500 g/m²/24 h, providing a good balance between protection and ventilation. The sleeping bag cover can be completely closed over the face with Velcro, and has a drawstring at the hood as well as zipper and press studs along the side for easy access. It provides effective protection against moisture, frost, and condensation – especially at the torso, where body heat keeps the membrane active and the sleeping bag dry.

Practical use and fit

The model is spacious and generously sized, 225 cm long and 85 cm wide at the head end. It fits most sleeping bags but is somewhat tight if you use a very thick winter sleeping bag or are over 190 cm tall. Jacket, pants, and smaller equipment fit inside, but not boots or backpack. An employee of ours who uses this a lot is 190 cm tall and for him, it works perfectly despite having a lot of equipment in the bivy bag as a pillow. Note that the manufacturer has slightly changed the shade of the product since we photographed it in nature, it is now slightly more dark green than in some pictures. Perfect for quick and convenient setup or bivouac without a tent. Delivered with a storage bag in dark green ripstop fabric.
