AM are the classic European stations broadcasting on 520-1700 KHz, radio Luxemburg is a station with historical dignity, but it is broadcast also loads of different stations on the AM band. Unfortunately, the AM band is being phased out now that the internet has taken over, which is not optimal from a crisis perspective. However, it can still be a security to be able to tune in to an AM station in an extreme case where Sweden has stopped its FM broadcasts and you want to reach broadcasts outside Europe.
Perfect for those who want a radio/ flashlight in the home if the power goes out. This radio has all the features you want; flashlight, FM/AM radio, power bank, USB socket and charging via USB, solar cell or dynamo. A small diode lights blue when fully charged and red when the battery is low.
FM radio with battery/dynamo is recommended by the Swedish emergency agency in emergency situations and is a product that should be in every household to be able to receive VMA (Important Message to the General public) even if the power were to go out.
The radio has a flip-up antenna for better reception. You easily switch between channels and have a clear display. With a fully charged battery/power bank, you can listen to the radio for about 8 hours.
Equipped with an "SOS" button, basically a personal alarm that sounds with a high volume.
The radio has a 1W /30 lm flashlight that provides a low-power with fully sufficient light. With a fully charged power bank, it can shine for a full 10 hours.
Built into the radio is a Li-ion power bank that is used to power electronics and provide power to the USB socket. The power bank is 2000 mAh (3.7V). This is quite a high capacity, but keep in mind that modern mobile phones consume power and 1000 mAh is enough to charge a modern smartphone to about 30%.
To fully charge the power bank, from discharged, you can do the following;
Charge via solar cell for approx. 35 hours, however, the solar cell is most suitable for maintenance charging.
Charge via crank/dynamo for approx. 7 hours. (in practice not so easy, dynamo is mainly used for maintenance charging or in an emergency).
Charge via Micro-USB for about 2.5 hours.
Should the battery run out, you can crank. If the battery is completely discharged, you may need to crank for 3-5 minutes to activate the battery. After one minute of shaking, you can do the following;
Keep the lamp on for about 10-15 minutes.
Listen to the radio for about 5-8 minutes.
Delivered with a micro-USB cable.
