BCB Mag Block Firing Steel

Product description

Magnesium body igniter for fuel and a Ferrocerium type blade that sparks when scraped.
You scrape off magnesium, a pile about the size of a raisin, (the silvery stuff that makes up the whole block) and then you pull the knife against the dark rod to ignite the magnesium.

With the fire steel, you don't have to worry about it getting wet, but you can, unlike with matches, light a fire. A must for people in nature or as an emergency reserve in the car or similar.

Dimensions approx. 7.6*2.5*1 cm. Weight 35 grams. From the British company BCB which supplies a lot of equipment to the British defence.
