Product description
Classic butter tin that is a perfect way to bring accessories without a lot of space.
Made of aluminum with a removable lid. This is originally a classic German piece of equipment that you had the butter ration in, when the soldier's ration consisted of butter and bread. Butterdose in German.
This particular version is from the German defense, typical year of manufacture is the 60s, but can vary.
Consists of aluminum lid and box, rubber gasket and removable plastic insert (can removed when cleaning).
Perfect outdoor accessory with a lovely retro feel. As the name suggests, it is suitable for storing butter in, so you can fry your food with real butter without having to carry some glaring plastic history with you. We transported butter with us during the summer for 5 days and it worked fine. Also perfect for transporting buns for coffee out into the forest in a nice way. Or why not some small sausages for the evening barbecue?
Also holds quite precisely a normal-sized package of bacon (140 g).
The box is tight and also holds cold/heat tolerably.
Because it is made of metal it also works as a smaller saucepan if needed. For example, when you forget the coffee pot at home...
Outer diameter lid: 11 cm
Total height with lid: 4 cm
Remember that it has been in storage since the 60s, may be smeared in storage grease and the gasket may be a little tired. Clean thoroughly before use!
These, like many other surpluses, are becoming harder and more expensive to obtain.
