The Sawyer SP160 is a complete and ultra-light gravity-based water filter that filters up to 3.8 liters (1 gallon) of water in as little as 7 minutes. Equipped with Sawyer's popular dual-threaded MINI filter that purifies water to 0.1 micron – perfect for hiking, camping, prepping, and travel. This kit allows you to easily hang the water bladder in a tree or on your backpack and let gravity do the work. The water is filtered through the included MINI filter, providing you with clean water free from bacteria, protozoa, and microplastics.

How it works

The filter contains thousands of U-shaped microtubes that allow water through but stop particles larger than 0.1 micron. This means protection against, among others, E. coli, Giardia, salmonella, cholera, and cryptosporidium. All Sawyer filters surpass EPA standards for water purification. Once the water bag is filled, it is hung up with the MINI filter facing downwards. The water then flows down through the hose and is automatically filtered – no pumping needed.
