Product description
Wonderful reindeer hide that fits perfectly in the home, the bushcraft camp, on the sled, on horseback or in the wagon. Thick and fine, insulates extremely well and contributes to a really lovely feeling wherever they are. Tanned in Sweden with our high demands on the environment and animals.
These skins are silicone-treated on the back, which provides a water-protected surface that does not absorb moisture from the ground. First sorting means that there is no visible damage to the skins and that they are completely symmetrical, this selection is already done at the tannery. Note, however, that on the back there may be traces of insect bites or marks from the tanning (the silicone treatment, however, hides more compared to normal skins).
The reindeer skin comes from the Sami areas. Reindeer roam freely between Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia. On their hiking trails between pastures and seasonal land, the reindeer are in close contact with both the northern lights and the midnight sun. It is the harsh mountain winds, the mountain lichen on the southern slopes, the cold, the insect bites of the marshlands and natural marks that give character to the reindeer skin. Among other things, what distinguishes reindeer skin from other skins is its chemical bond that makes it strong and durable, which means that you can get thin, flexible skins with little stretching effect.
The reindeer skin is a natural product and like the reindeer, the skins also vary slightly in color, shape and size. Delivered unsorted.
