The immensely popular Polish rain poncho, which has been used as a tent (Lavvu), is now impossible to find, and we started looking for good newly manufactured alternatives. A small, convenient, and simple tent suitable for a tent stove.

This was the tent we found; a well-made construction with a classic Lavvu shape. Similar to a tent, you get a lot of space inside for both people and gear. The tent has good ventilation, lacks a floor, ample ceiling height, and is ready for a stove with a specially designed opening in the roof for a flue pipe.

This variant has a "skirt" around the bottom of the tent that effectively reduces drafts and protects from weather and wind. It is commonly called a snow cap. It can either be folded in or out; if folded outward, you can cover it with snow or branches for extra insulation.

The tent has double entrances that can be secured in an open position, closed with zippers. At the top, there are ventilation openings with mosquito nets which can be set up with built-in opening rods. The opening for the flue pipe can be completely closed with the tent fabric and built-in Velcro, so if you don't use the stove, you can still keep the tent closed. If you use the pipe opening, the tent fabric rolls up above it where it is also secured.

Durable aluminum tent pole. The tent fabric is reinforced at the top, and a hook for hanging a lamp is sewn on. At the very top, the tent has a loop that is effectively used to attach wire to the flue pipe to get it at the right angle. The tent also has mounts for attaching extra storm lines. The tent pegs are made of aluminum and crossed for good rigidity.

Note that the flue pipe opening piece is included and does not need to be purchased separately as with many other tents for stoves. This refers to the silver fabric piece, not the silicone fitting. You make a hole in the flue pipe opening piece according to the size of your flue pipe and then complete it with a so-called tent passage kit/flashing kit. It handles flue pipes up to about 3.5", depending on how intensely you burn. Make sure the flue pipe and stove are always at a safe distance from flammable materials and that sufficient protection is installed against the tent fabric. All burning occurs at your own responsibility and risk. Ensure proper ventilation.

Fits 1-2 people, depending on how much gear you have and if you use a stove. Without a stove, you could have 2 adults and a dog/child.

The tent is lightweight, with a weight (including stakes and pole) of about 1640 grams. Diameter about 320 cm. Height about 160 cm. Material: 210T Ripstop Polyester, taped seams. Water column about 2500 mm.
