Product description
Tingstäde is an affordable crank radio with slightly more functions than the simplest variants. The radio can receive broadcasts on the FM and AM bands. It has a jack for headphones (3.5 mm) and an intruder alarm. The radio functions as a solar cell charger and has a USB socket for charging or operating USB-compatible accessories, for example charging a mobile phone.
In addition to a built-in Power Bank, the radio also has the option of being powered by 3 AAA (not included) batteries, can be good to have as spare-spare batteries. You can choose with a button whether the radio should be powered by the Power bank (Li-Ion) or the AAA batteries.
Perfect for those who want a radio/flashlight in the home if the power goes out. This radio has all the features you want; flashlight, FM/AM/radio, power bank, USB socket and charging via USB, solar cell or dynamo.
FM radio with battery/dynamo is recommended by the MSB Swedish emergency department in emergencies and is a product that should be in every households to be able to receive VMA (Important Notice to the Public) even if the power were to go out.
AM are the classic European stations that broadcast on 520-1700 KHz, Radio Luxemburg is a station with historical dignity, but there are also loads of different stations on the AM band. Unfortunately, the AM band is being phased out now that the internet has taken over, which is not optimal from a crisis perspective. However, it can still be a security to be able to tune in to an AM station in an extreme case where Sweden has stopped its FM broadcasts and you want to reach broadcasts outside Europe.
The radio has a flip-up antenna for better reception. The radio has "auto-scan" between the stations and the frequency is shown on the LED display. With a fully charged battery/power bank, you can listen to the radio for about 9 hours.
The radio has a 1W/60 lm flashlight that provides a low-power, fully sufficient light. With a fully charged power bank, it can shine for around 16-20 hours.
Built into the radio is a Li-ion power bank that is used to power electronics and provide power to the USB socket. The power bank is 2000 mAh (3.7V). This is a fairly high capacity, but keep in mind that modern mobile phones consume power and 2000 mAh is enough to charge a modern smartphone to about 60%.
To fully charge the power bank, from discharged, you can do the following;
Charge via solar cell for approx. 60-70 hours.
Charge via crank/dynamo for approx. 2.5 hours. (in practice not so easy, dynamo is mainly used for maintenance charging).
Charge via Micro-USB for about 6 hours.
Should the battery run out, you can crank. After a minute of shaking, you can do the following;
Keep the lamp on for about 15-20 minutes.
Listen to the radio for about 5-10 minutes.
Charge a phone for about 3-5 minutes of talk.
Comes with micro-USB cable.
Weight 266g. (without AAA batteries in it)
